Motorsport: Pedrosa wins heated Spanish MotoGP

Dani Pedrosa won a spicy Spanish MotoGP from pole position as Australia's Jack Miller got physically involved with Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista.

After crashing out Miller shoved Bautista in the back and kicked his bike after picking himself up out of the gravel.

As a result the 22-year-old Miller was fined 1,000 euros and left to make an apology of sorts after the incident.

"He (Bautista) came in hot... I was already halfway into the corner and then he lost the front and just cleaned me out," Miller said.

"And then I pushed him, it's not the right thing to do. It was just built-up frustration. It happened three times already that I got completely pushed off the end of the track with somebody else when my braking marker was correct."

While it was a tough day for Miller it was plain sailing for Pedrosa, who opened a comfortable lead early on and cruised to victory at the 4.4 kilometre Circuito de Jerez.

Pedrosa's Honda teammate Marc Marquez was second and Jorge Lorenzo finished third in an all-Spanish podium.

It was Lorenzo's first podium finish since moving to Ducati last season.

Valentino Rossi of Yamaha started seventh and finished only 10th, seeing his points lead drop to two points over teammate Maverick Vinales, who was sixth on Sunday.

Defending champion Marquez is four points behind Rossi, and Pedrosa is 10 points off the lead.
