KEY POINTS:
Black Beauty is looking good for this weekend's A1GP, says Kiwi driver Chris van der Drift.
After the first of two rookie practice sessions at the Taupo circuit today, where the 22-year-old got progressively quicker lap by lap, he told nzherald.co.nz that the car was in great shape.
"It's feeling really, really good," he said, "I've had a couple of months off, so I was trying to get into back into the swing of things. I can't wait to race."
Van der Drift is currently driving in the second session, and is again leading the time sheets, with a best lap of 1:19.743.
The first session with each country's top drivers will run at 2pm this afternoon.
