KEY POINTS:
Team Kiwi boss David John has hit back at V8 Supercar driver Greg Murphy's criticism of his struggling outfit.
The embattled team is trying to raise four hundred thousand dollars for a car for next year after writing off their Holden at Bathurst. The team had been hoping to sell the car at the end of the season, having decided to switch camps to Ford for 2007.
Greg Murphy says if you can not afford to be in the competition, then you should not be in it, it is as simple as that.
David John says Murphy's comments are disappointing and he should mind his own business. He says he would have thought Murphy would have cared about his own backyard.
Mr John says while 'Murph' is probably right, they make no bones about the fact they are based in New Zealand, have always done it tough and always will do.
He said he's confident Team Kiwi will raise the 400 thousand dollars necessary to compete in the Australian V8's next year.
