Veteran Kiwi V8 Supercars driver Greg Murphy claims he's not yet a spent force - and has a brand new team to prove it.
The four-time Bathurst 1000 winner's career appeared over after a disappointing 2010 campaign with Paul Morris Motorsport,
Despite this, he was announced today as the driver for the fledgling Pepsi Max Crew team.
"This is another huge opportunity for me," Murphy said.
"I'm honoured and privileged to be a part of this.
"I just can't wait to get out there again. The desire to be successful is as strong as it has ever been.
"Last year was mentioned as a new lease of life but with the team we have put together now, and the enthusiasm we all have for this, I am really looking forward to it."
Murphy will team up with Rick and Todd Kelly of Kelly Racing; and the 38-year-old New Zealander said he is hopeful of again reaching the heights he experienced in 2003 and 2004 when he won the Bathurst 1000.
"Last year was really, really disappointing and I'm very keen to put that all behind me," he said.
"Ever since we started talking about this team there has been such a good feeling about it all.
"It has all only ever come together since the Sydney 500, and it's great to be working with guys I have known for such a long time.
"It all feels like a homecoming. We have put a great team together and we really think we can be right up there."
