Holden veteran Craig Lowndes remains the man to beat at Queensland Raceway after claiming pole position for the Ipswich 300 finale.
After back-to-back wins on Saturday, Lowndes was fastest qualifier for Sunday's 200km race by clocking 1 minute:09.57 seconds.
Series leader and Lowndes' teammate Jamie Whincup was second quickest (1:09.72) with Ford young gun Tim Slade third (1:09.76).
Second-placed Lowndes whittled Whincup's series lead down to 170 points by taking out both 22-lap sprint races on Saturday.
It marked the first time Lowndes had tasted victory this season - and his first win at the Ipswich track in six years.
Sunday's 65-lap race starts at 3.05pm (AEST).
