Craig Lowndes will make history this weekend when he competes in his 600th Supercars race at the Sydney SuperSprint at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The six-time Bathurst Champion will become the first driver to achieve the milestone, more than 20 years after his debut at the circuit as a 21 year-old.
Since then the 42 year-old has achieved just about everything in Australian motorsport including three Supercars Championships and a remarkable 105 race wins, the most by any driver.
Lowndes' teammates Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen today presented him with a specially made cake to celebrate the milestone. His crew also donned special Craig Lowndes face masks that will be handed out to fans who attend his 600th race this Sunday.
Lowndes is currently sitting fourth in the Supercars Championship after winning his last race in Ipswich and says he has no plans for retirement.
