Spain's Jorge Lorenzo claimed a season-opening win at the Qatar round of the MotoGP series on his Movistar Yamaha Monday.
Italian Andrea Dovizioso on a Ducati was second while Spaniard Marc Marquez finished third on a Honda.
Lorenzo's seven-time world champion Valentino Rossi settled for fourth in the same week he extended his contract with Yamaha while Dani Pedro was fifth.
The next round is in Argentina on April 3.
