Kiwi driver Scott Dixon's terrible run of luck in the IndyCar series has continued on the streets of Toronto.
Dixon qualified pole and was in control of the race from the opening lap but as cars began their last round of pit stops Dixon was caught out by a safety car at an inopportune time. It meant he and championship leader Simon Pagenaud had to pit under safety car and were then stuck behind all of those drivers that got their final stop done prior to the yellow.
He fought his way through to salvage eighth place but will be ruing not making his pit stop a moment earlier - a decision that cost him almost certain victory.
Will Power claimed a third win in four races after taking advantage of his team's call to pit early.
"We did need a break. That was a great call there," Power said.
