Motorsport: Harley-Davidson livery for Percat at Pukekohe

Global motorcycle icon Harley-Davidson joined Brad Jones Racing at the start of the 2017 season; and for the penultimate round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, they are placing themselves front and centre as the latest #8 Commodore sponsor for Nick Percat.

Harley-Davidson have been manufacturing high-quality motorcycles and related products for over 110 years. Their bikes create a deep connection between the rider and the brand, all through their products, services and importantly, the experience.

Percat and the Harley-Davidson Racing team have put the Pirtek Endurance Cup behind them and are focused on finishing the final two rounds of the championship on a strong note. The team have had success here in the past, with a number of pole positions, podiums and the highlight of course is when former #8 driver Jason Bright won the inaugural Jason Richards trophy.

Pukekohe will always be a special place for the team, and they go to race in honor of their friend and team-mate, the late Jason Richards.

Brad Jones added "It's fantastic to have Harley-Davidson on board for the Pukekohe event this weekend. Pukekohe is a special place for us for many reasons, mainly because of JR (Jason Richards), we always race with everything we've got, but this event is something different. Hopefully he shines down on us this weekend.

"It doesn't matter where you are in the world, people instantly recognize Harley-Davidson. The reveal is pretty exciting for us as it's something we've had in the pipeline for a while which we finally get to show off.

"The livery is similar to what they run on the H-D1 Custom Shop Freightliner Truck they use in Australia to haul their gear and display bikes across country. It's tough, and the flames are something we haven't seen on a Supercar in a few years, so it's cool to bring them back for this event."

"We had a function with Freightliner and Harley-Davidson two years ago in New Zealand, and their showroom and service centre in New Zealand was outstanding; well worth a visit. We're expecting to see quite a few local Harley-Davidson owners over the weekend, no doubt enjoying the cruise out to the track on their beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle."
