New Zealand's sole round of the V8 Supercar championship on the new street circuit in Hamilton has been confirmed for April next year.
V8 Supercars Australia today confirmed that the race, to be known as the Hamilton 400, will be held on April 18-20 in the first of seven years on the street circuit in the city.
The event promoters in conjunction with the Porter family announced that the V8 Supercar Championship drivers will race for a new trophy, the Mark Porter Memorial Trophy, to honour the well known Waikato driver who was tragically killed whilst racing at Bathurst last year.
Local fans will get the first opportunity to buy tickets for the Hamilton 400 which go on sale in Hamilton on August 18.
