He's not legally allowed to drive on our roads on his own but teenage Kiwi race driver Conrad Clark will head to the United States this year to race in Formula 4.
The Taupo product has agreed to a deal with Kiwi Motorsport – a team set up to open doors for Kiwi drivers and mechanics get ahead in the US.
He will compete in a six-round championship, the final event being held at the American Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas with an audience of 340 000 in the stands and worldwide television coverage.
"We are so pleased to have Conrad join Kiwi Motorsport," team owners Teena Larsen and Garry Orton said via a statement. "The team was set up to open doors for Kiwi drivers and mechanics and having a kiwi driver means a lot to us and falls in line with our goals.
"Conrad will be racing on the big stage in the States and we know he will perform well and learn from this experience."
