Swedish rally ace Kenneth Eriksson will be out to make amends for a disappointing performance last year when he returns to drive the ex-Possum Bourne Subaru Impreza WRC hillclimb special at next month's Race to the Sky in the Cardrona Valley.
Eriksson, a multiple Asia-Pacific Rally Champion and past winner of Rally New Zealand, was yesterday confirmed as a starter for the event.
He is due in the country this month to begin testing the Impreza, which was the car Bourne was poised to use in the 2003 event before the tragic pre-event crash that claimed his life.
Eriksson is then expected to spend time holidaying in Central Otago before the March 26-27 event.
