KEY POINTS:
New Zealand IndyCar driver Scott Dixon, by his own standards, didn't have a good race last weekend, finishing fourth.
But looking at his form so far this season, missing the podium by one place is merely a bump in the road as he heads to Richmond this weekend.
Halfway through this year's title chase, Dixon's Target Chip Ganassi Racing team has won five of the first eight IndyCar races this season, a feat matched only one other time in CGR history in 1998 when Jimmy Vasser and Alex Zanardi combined to win five of the first eight races under the Cart banner.
Dixon teammate Dan Wheldon's win last weekend recorded CGR's 98th win since the team was formed in 1990.
Dixon could become the fifth driver to lead in 2000 laps in his career if he can stay in front for 85 or more laps.
So far this year, he's led 633 laps, and Wheldon is the only driver to complete all laps in the series this year.
Dixon is one of two drivers (Helio Castroneves is the other) to score top-five finishes in seven of the first eight IndyCar races this season and the influential National Speed Sport News placed Dixon the top driver in motor racing in its latest poll. Wheldon and Dixon have had five starts at Richmond since 2003 and have one win and two podium finishes apiece.
