New Zealand driver Scott Dixon has qualified sixth on the grid for the Chevy 500, the final race of the 2004 Indy Racing League in Texas.
With the league's crown having already slipped from his grasp, Dixon produced a solid drive this morning (NZ time) and hoped he could end the season on a high note tomorrow.
"I feel fairly good about our ability to fight for the win this weekend," Dixon said.
"A win here would definitely go a long way to helping us feel better about a pretty tough year and set the tone for this winter's preparations for next season."
Dixon is 10th on overall standings, with Brazilian Tony Kanaan having clinched the series.
