While Dixon has been setting Indy Car records in the United States, Brendon Hartley, Earl Bamber, Hayden Paddon and Mitch Evans have also been enjoying international success.
Dixon says the current generation of drivers have overcome a number of challenges.
He says there are now a number of Kiwi drivers making an impact overseas and it's great for motor racing in New Zealand.
