Kiwi Courtney Duncan has taken back the lead in the women's motocross world championship.
Duncan had a first and second in the latest round at Loket in the Czech Republic to head the series by three points from Italy's Kiara Fontanesi and defending champion Livia Lancelot (France) by seven points.
Her coach Josh Coppins said he was proud of what she achieved over the weekend, in only her second season competing at the highest international level.
"It was an important race to get back the red plate with only two rounds to go now. She's improved hugely not necessarily as a faster rider but as a smarter rider, so that's what we have been working hard on," he said.
Duncan is based in Dunedin but has been living in Europe since April. Over the past eight weeks since the last WMX round she says she has been training hard and it has obviously paid off.
