The biggest surname in Australian motorsport will make a surprise debut at this weekend's Perth Supercars round.
Matthew Brabham - the grandson of late three-time Formula One champion Sir Jack - has received a last minute clearance to replace Holden driver Taz Douglas for the Perth SuperSprint.
The Holden team were caught short when Douglas made himself unavailable for the Supercars fourth round due to "a long-term wedding engagement".
However, they simply reached out to the 23-year-old Brabham who was already in Perth to contest support category Stadium Super Trucks at Barbagallo Raceway this weekend.
Remarkably Brabham - who has never competed in Supercars - received a license approved by governing body Confederation of Australian Motor Sports late on Thursday afternoon.
