KEY POINTS:
Points are the priority for the New Zealand team in the third round of the A1 grand prix motor racing series in Malaysia this weekend.
They enter the round fourth on the standings after a relatively poor performance when snaring just two points in the second round in China this month.
The New Zealanders have 20 points, trailing leaders Malaysia on 28 and Ireland and France on 23.
Teenager Earl Bamber returns to action at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia after missing the China round when Chris van der Drift was entrusted with the driving duties.
Bamber is confident he will perform well in Malaysia, having driven literally thousands of laps at Sepang.
His experience at the 5.5km circuit comes largely from the Formula BMW and Formula V6 Asia series.
Bamber expects the heat to be one of the leading factors for drivers in Malaysia, particularly in the closing stages of the feature race on Sunday.
Track temperatures of more than 50degC are common, so drivers need to manage their condition all weekend.
"I'll be drinking lots of water all weekend, because the heat is so tough at Sepang," Bamber said.
"Even getting into the car works up a sweat."
