Top Australian karter David Sera will take on some of New Zealand's finest KartSport drivers at 2011 KartSport New Zealand North Island Sprint Kart Championship meeting in Hawke's Bay over Labour Weekend.
Though only 23, the 12-time Australian champion Sera made history in September when he won Australia's Rotax Max Light title for the fifth consecutive time and only last weekend won two class titles at the New South Wales Championship title meeting in Newcastle, bringing his state title tally up to an incredible 44.
The Victorian, who works for Australian kart manufacturer Arrow, has also competed successfully in the United States and represented Australia at the Rotax Max category's annual Grand Final.
He will drive one of Arrow's new XIE karts with a Bullseye-built 125cc Rotax Max engine in the Rotax Max Light class for New Zealand Rotax and North Island Arrow importer Right Karts of Auckland.
Right Karts have been working on getting Sera here for some time and company spokesman Gavin Bright says he is looking forward to seeing him take on some of New Zealand's best Rotax drivers in the 125cc Rotax Max Light class at the North Island championship meeting.
