Geof Argyle moved to second on the Asia Pacific Rally Championship standings after a third placing in the International Rally of Indonesia.
Manawatu's Argyle, in a Mitsubishi Lancer, picked up a place on the overall standings and now sits 29 points behind race winner Jussi Valimaki of Finland.
The event held near Makassar was the sixth of eight rounds in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship.
The team's second car, driven by Brian Green, had a subdued day and finished well back following airflow pipe damage early in the rally.
The next round is in Thailand on October 22-23.
