Confronting altitude and heat will be the focus for in-form Kiwi rally driver Hayden Paddon in his final few days' build-up to the rally of Mexico.
Paddon heads into the rally after a pleasing second-place finish in Sweden, but now must adapt to the gravel surface, while also battling high altitude and hot temperatures.
He says it adds in a whole new mental aspect of preparation.
Paddon says you get up to nearly 3,000m and the power and control of the car becomes tougher.
Paddon is fourth overall in the WRC standings heading into the rally. World champion Sebastien Ogier has won the first two rallies of the year.
