AUSTRALIA - It's a case of "where the bloody hell is she and what has she been up to?"
Lara Bingle, the teenage model who appeared in Tourism Australia's controversial "where the bloody hell are you?" advertisements, has gone to ground after allegations that she has been having an affair with a married Australian Rules football player.
The epitome of the bronzed Aussie beach babe, blue-eyed Bingle was catapulted to international fame by the launch of the tourism campaign this year, in which she emerges from the sea on to an idyllic tropical beach.
But with celebrity has come the attention of tabloid reporters and allegations she has been obsessed with AFL star Brendan Fevola, 25, for at least two months. Yesterday it was reported Bingle, 19, had fled Sydney.
Fevola has been married since October last year and has a young daughter. His infuriated wife, Alex, who says she and Fevola have split, has apparently sold her story of betrayal to a women's magazine. She has also released a voicemail message found on the Carlton star's phone which she alleges was left by Bingle.
The bikini model asks him to pick her up at Melbourne Airport.
"[I heard] something about you getting back with your wife. I can't believe you would do that," the message says. "I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall right now, can you call me? It's not fair I thought you were better than that."
Fevola has admitted that his marriage is in trouble but both he and Bingle deny having an affair.
