Martial arts: Taekwondo resolution

The World Taekwondo Federation has granted interim governorship of the sport here to Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ).

At last month's meeting of the New Zealand Olympic Committee, two applications for recognition as the national organisation for the sport were considered. They were from TNZ and the New Zealand Taekwondo Federation.

The committee recommended to the taekwondo world body that TNZ become the sport's officially recognised organisation in New Zealand.
