A Tauranga man has sustained serious injuries after falling from his trail bike at a motocross event near Matata today.
The 42-year-old was flown by the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter to Tauranga Hospital where he is in serious condition after sustaining serious injuries to the right side of his body.
Onsite medics prepared a landing area for the helicopter and stabilised the man who was located in a forest.
Due to the remote area of the incident and time critical nature of the man's injuries, the helicopter attended the accident.
