Lisa Carrington is crediting more time in the Kayak for her double gold haul at the Canoe Sprint World Cup in Portugal.
The Kiwi paddler has added to her K1 200 medal with gold in the K1 500 final, winning by 1.6 seconds.
After a second place finish in the K1 500m at the recent world cup in Germany, Carrington says a decent training block helped her get the needed edge.
Carrington and Marty McDowell will stay on in Portugal to train for the next few weeks, before a final pre-Olympic camp in Spain in July.
