The Kangaroos may have suffered a major blow just a day out from the centenary league test against the Kiwis.
It is thought halfback Jonathan Thurston has rolled his ankle during this afternoon's closed training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Thurston is having scans on the ankle and the Australian side will know in the next three hours if he can play tomorrow night.
Melbourne's Cooper Cronk has already been put on standby to replace the Dally M medal winner.
