An Auckland University student has qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup in London after battling through from a field of 20 million entrants.
Harry Blackmore aka Honey Badger is one of only 16 PS4 players from across the globe to have qualified for the event which has a top prize of $200k.
Blackmore battled through qualifying via online tournaments and live events in Barcelona, Manchester and finally Amsterdam this weekend and will fly the flag for New Zealand and Oceania in London.
Players from as far afield as Argentina, Japan, Germany, Brazil and Canada will compete on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox console before a head to head decider to crown this year's World Champion.
A professional player for the FUTWIZ website team,Blackmore has mixed his university study around online weekend competition against players from all across Oceania and through success in these competitions has been flown around the globe to compete in live events in places such as Sydney, Doha and Barcelona.
