Boaties using the inner harbour today and tomorrow are urged to keep a close eye out as a couple of unusual events are on this weekend.
Today and tomorrow, from 9am until 5pm, there will be a water ski competition off Birkenhead Wharf. During the competition, the provisions of Auckland Regional Council Navigation and Safety Bylaw Clause 3.2 (a) and (b) "the 5 knot rule" are suspended with respect to competing craft and emergency vessels only. Navigate with caution and obey instructions from Marshalls.
On Sunday there is a kayak race from Herald Island to Cheltenham Beach.
