New Zealand won the world ice hockey third division championship with a 9-0 defeat of Ireland in the final round at Dunedin. The only unbeaten team at the championship, the Ice Blacks ended the tournament with 14 points, followed by Turkey, 12, Luxembourg, 9, Greece, 7 and Ireland, 3. New Zealand and Turkey will be promoted to the second division of the world championship next year.
