Three debutants have been named in the New Zealand women's team for the Oceania Cup hockey tournament in Stratford, starting on October 30.
Auckland defender Liz Thompson, Canterbury striker Sophie Cocks and Midlands defender Brooke Neal are the newcomers in the tournament, which features world No 6 Australia, Papua New Guinea and Samoa.
Senior pair Katie Glynn and Stacey Michelsen were ruled out by knee injuries, which are also expected to count them out of contention for the World League finals in Argentina in December.
The women's squad is in camp in Hamilton this week before heading to Stratford.
The Black Sticks squad: Krystal Forgesson, Julia King, Liz Thompson (Auckland), Bridget Blackwood, Sophie Cocks, Pippa Hayward (Canterbury), Rhiannon Dennison, Bianca Russell, Petrea Webster (North Harbour), Sam Charlton, Gemma Flynn, Rose Keddell, Brooke Neal, Sally Rutherford (Midlands), Emily Naylor, Kayla Sharland (Central), Anita Punt, Aniwaka Roberts (Capital).
