Hockey: Striker ruled out

A blood clot has ruled Black Sticks striker Phillip Burrows out of the final of the Oceania World Cup qualifying tournament in Fiji tomorrow.

Burrows' condition was diagnosed last night after he complained of increasing discomfort since the team arrived in Suva late last week.

He was admitted to hospital, and a clot in a vein in his upper arm will be closely monitored.
