New Zealand and China continued on their winning way at the men's World Cup qualifying tournament in Invercargill yesterday to set up a classic fourth-round clash in the late match today.
The Black Sticks went out to a 2-0 lead but were brought back to 2-2 by Malaysia just after halftime before finishing strongly to claim a 4-2 victory.
Hayden Shaw, in action for the first time at the tournament, scored one of New Zealand's goals with Andy Hayward, Simon Child and Phil Burrows adding the rest.
China beat bottom-placed Wales 2-1, their third straight win by that margin.
A win for New Zealand in today's 6pm game will secure their place in Sunday's final.
