KEY POINTS:
New Zealand were beaten 1-3 by Korea in the Champions Challenge women's hockey tournament in Azerbaijan tonight (NZ time).
The loss was their fourth in the six team-tournament, leaving the Black Sticks with just one win -- over the hosts.
They scored first in the fourth minute when Honor Dillon found the back of the net with a bizarre shot that came off both uprights.
Jaimee Claxton defected a strike just over three minutes later and that was about New Zealand's lot for most of the game as far as getting into the Korean circle.
Jong Eun Kim tied the game in the 24th minute with a brilliant goal scored low on the left corner and Deul Ki Cheon gave the Koreans the lead in the 29th minute with a drag flick from a penalty corner.
New Zealand played some attractive hockey in the lead up to halftime.
Goalkeeper Beth Jurgeleit brought off some fine saves to keep them in the game until the 50th minute when Mi Hyun Park was yellow-carded.
However, New Zealand couldn't capitalise on the number advantage they had on the field.
Cheon sealed Korea's victory with her second goal a minute from the end.
Result: Korea 3 (Jong Eun Kim 24th, Deul Ki Cheon 29th, 69th). NZ 1 (Honour Dillon (4th). Halftime: 2-1.
