KEY POINTS:
Three goals in six minutes helped South Korea seal their three-test men's hockey series against New Zealand with a game to spare in Christchurch yesterday.
Korea followed Thursday's 1-0 win with a more open 3-2 victory at Porritt Park, defeating an improved Black Sticks side. The New Zealanders led 1-0 at halftime, playing with good defensive discipline to protect a seventh-minute strike by North Harbour striker David Kosoof.
However, the floodgates opened early in the second spell, as the visitors launched several blistering attacking raids.
Midfielder Dae Keun Oh started the procession, followed by two goals to classy forward and captain Jong Ho Seo.
The Black Sticks, as they had done in the first half, continued to create chances and eventually broke through when Midlands defender Casey Henwood scored with 15 minutes remaining.
The match was scoreless from that point but coach Shane McLeod had plenty to be happy about, despite the defensive lapses.
McLeod had just a day with his players to prepare for this series, while the world No 5 Koreans are in full preparation mode for this month's Champions Trophy tournament in Malaysia.
The third test will be played in Christchurch tomorrow.
