The New Zealand men's hockey team remain winless at the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament after going down 2-1 to Malaysia in front of a vocal home crowd this morning.

As the first half wore on New Zealand seemed to find a rhythm but was repelled by the opposition defence and the match went into halftime locked up nil-all.
Malaysia broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Chua Boon Huat flicked the ball into the top of the net after receiving a great pass into the circle.
