The Black Sticks women's hockey team has been beaten 5-3 by Korea at the World Cup qualifying tournament in Rome.
This means New Zealand misses out on a top four spot and an automatic berth in the World Cup later this year.
However they can still playoff for fifth and make the cut.
They need a comprehensive win against Italy tomorrow morning (NZ time) to make the fifth-place playoff.
The goal scorers this morning for the Black Sticks were Suzie Muirhead, Di Weavers and Jane Maley.
In their other matches at the tournament, New Zealand has beaten Azerbaijan 2-1, lost to the USA 1-0, and drawn 0-0 with Ireland.
