The New Zealand women's hockey team had an impressive 3-0 win over Spain last night (NZT) at the four-nations tournament in Beijing.
In 32degC and smoggy conditions, the Black Sticks opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Lizzy Igasan converted a penalty corner.
Kim Noakes scored from another corner in the final minute of the half for a 2-0 lead going into the break.
In the second half the Black Sticks added to their dominance with a Tara Drysdale field goal midway through the spell.
The win follows their opening 1-1 draw with China.
The Black Sticks now play Japan on Sunday in the final match before the placing playoffs.
