Colin Batch will remain the Black Sticks men's hockey coach for another four years.
Hockey New Zealand has re-signed Batch through until the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
The former Australian international took over after the London Games and has had a rollercoaster ride with Black Sticks in that time.
The men's team endured one of the most heart-breaking losses in New Zealand hockey's history in Rio, beaten 3-2 by Germany in the quarter-final, having led 2-0 with five minutes to go.
Batch's first task upon his reappointment will be to select a squad to play Australia in three tests next month.
