SYDNEY - Former Australian soccer star Ian Gray died from a lethal dose of heroin, allegedly supplied by a Kings Cross prostitute who stole his laptop, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Sherryn Marie Davis, 22, is accused of Mr Gray's manslaughter, which police documents allege was committed by "an unlawful and dangerous act".
The breakthrough came after Gray was found dead in the lounge room of his Elizabeth Bay apartment on Monday night.
A group of the 46-year-old's friends who had grown concerned for his welfare discovered the body after breaking into his Onslow Avenue home in the Sydney harbour-side suburb.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and homicide squad detectives are investigating.
Davis, of Richmond, northwest of Sydney, was arrested yesterday at premises on Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross, and was later charged with manslaughter, supplying a prohibited drug, and stealing, police said.
She did not apply for bail in Central Local Court, and it was formally refused, the Telegraph report said.
