New Sports Hall of Fame inductee Anne Audain is shocked TVNZ omitted her speech from its Halberg Awards coverage.
Audain is a three-time Olympian who won gold in the 3,000 metres at the Brisbane Commonwealth Games in 1982. She spoke for around three minutes, after coming home from the USA to receive the honour - at her own expense.
"I just think it's appalling, I really do. And it's not about me getting publicity, I don't need it, it's about the fact that the people I came down to thank didn't hear me say it."
Audain says she was a "poster-child" for Sir Murray Halberg's disabled children crusade, having had deformed feet in her younger years.
