Gymnast Misha Koudinov arrived back in the country yesterday counting his medals after dominating the under-18 section of the Australian Gym Champs in Melbourne over the weekend. The 15-year-old, who represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games last year, finished second in the overall competition which was used for qualifying for the apparatus finals.
In the apparatus finals, he cleaned up with four gold medals after winning the floor, pommel horse, rings and vault. He was second in the parallel bars and horizontal bar finals.
The next international event for the Westlake Boys High student is the Shanghai World Cup in late July.
