New Zealand gymnasts had success at the Valeri Liukin International event in Dallas, Texas. Mark Holyoake of Auckland won a gold on the parallel bars and was a silver medallist on the pommels to finish seventh overall in the all-round senior competition.
Michael Chieng of North Harbour finished third overall in the level 9 competition, winning the rings apparatus. Fourteen-year-old Misha Koudinov was third overall in the level 10 competition, winning the individual floor apparatus and parallel bars. David Chieng, also of North Harbour, was ninth in the same section as Koudinov.
