Regarded as the best female golfer in history, Annika Sorenstam is coming to New Zealand this week for the ANNIKA Invitational Australasia which will be held at the Royal Wellington Golf Club and she will be available to media Thursday, 13 December at 4:00pm.
This will be the inaugural ANNIKA Invitational Australasia which is an event for young female golfers from the age of 18 and under to be played from the 14-16 of December. The ANNIKA Invitational Australasia extends the Foundations global tournament circuit to a fifth continent, joining events in North America, South America, Asia and Europe.
Before stepping away from competitive golf at the end of 2008, Sorenstam had won 90 international tournaments as a professional to hold the record for most wins of any female golfer.
She has won 72 official LPGA tournaments including an impressive ten major championships plus 18 other tournaments internationally and she tops the LPGA's career money list with earnings of over $22 million.
The top-three players this week will earn exemptions into the 2019 ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
The Media gathering at the Royal Wellington Golf Club on Thursday the 13th will start at approximately 4:00pm. Please meet in the clubhouse and we will try accommodate your requirements. Annika only has one hour and youre more than welcome to join us for the opening ceremony which starts at 6:00pm where Annika will be welcomed with a Powhiri, our traditional Maori welcome.
