Watch: Kiwi golfer holes remarkable shot, dances poorly in celebration

Kiwi golfer Steven Alker has hit one of his best shots of the season, and unleashed one of the worst dances.

You could forgive his excitement given the stunning nature of the shot, with the Hamilton Boys High product holing out from the fairway for a stunning eagle.

"I got a bit unlucky off the tee and it bounced left into the rough and I had a terrible lie. I had a wedge from about 105 yards. It worked out well. I bounced it up and it rolled nicely and it was a bit of a lucky shot as well," Alker told the PGA Tour website.

Alker then nearly holed his tee shot on the following hole, but it just missed dropping - sparing everyone from a second rendition.

The shots spurred Alker to a four-under 67 and a rise of 71 places to a tie for 29th after two rounds of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, the penultimate event of the Web.com Tour playoff series. He is in a share of 20th in that playoff series, with the top 25 at the end of the four-tournament stretch earning PGA Tour cards for the 2016-17 season.

Fellow Kiwi Tim Wilkinson also made the cut in a share of 44th, but is currently 49th on the playoff series leaderboard, needing a strong finish to snare a PGA Tour card.
