He's used to launching massive drives down the fairway, now world golf No 1 Tiger Woods will turn his talent to the racetrack.
Woods, in New Zealand for the wedding of his long-time caddy Steve Williams this weekend, will race in Monday's celebrity speedway event at Pukekohe organised by Williams.
A race official in Auckland told NZPA Woods would be behind the wheel on Monday night.
Woods was due to front at press conference in Auckland at 10am.
Williams, who races cars when he isn't caddying for Woods, has attracted top V8 Supercar driver Greg Murphy, former All Black captain Tana Umaga and top driver Tony Galbraith for the event.
Money raised will go to the Steve Williams Foundation, which provides funding for young sports people who cannot afford coaching or to help them with sports-related tertiary educational opportunities.
The foundation, established in 2000, has dispersed $250,000 to young athletes.
