The odds are out for Tiger Woods' new girlfriend

Ex-wife Elin Nordegren is the bookies favourite to be Tiger Woods' next girlfriend.

After breaking up with Olympic skiing champion Lindsey Vonn last week, Irish bookie Paddy Power has placed Nordegren as a 7-1 favourite to be the next person 'Woods publicly states to be his girlfriend'.

Woods and Vonn jointly announced on Sunday they were splitting up after more than two years because of their hectic schedules as athletes.

The next women with the best odds already have links with famous sportsmen. Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, the on-off girlfriend of Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, is at 12-1 odds while Russian model Irina Shayk, former girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo, is rated 16-1. Actress Cameron Diaz is also listed at 16-1 odds.

Sports stars include racecar driver Danica Patrick (33-1), tennis players Caroline Wozniacki (40-1) and Serena Williams (40-1) and golfer Michelle Wie (40-1).

Other names listed are the likes of Jenna Jameson (20-1), Rihanna (33-1), Paris Hilton (50-1), Sandra Bullock (50-1), Britney Spears (50-1) and Pippa Middleton (100-1).

Woods spoke about the breakup with Vonn on Wednesday.

"Obviously, it does affect me," Woods said after a nine-hole practice round at TPC Sawgrass, home of The Players Championship.

"It's tough. There's no doubt. I'm not going to lie about that. And on top of that, this time of the year is really, really hard on me."

Sunday was the anniversary of his father's death. Tuesday was nine years to the day that a memorial service for Earl Woods was held at the Tiger Woods Learning Center.

"I haven't slept," he said.

"These three days, May 3rd and through the 5th, today, is just brutal on me. And then with obviously what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it."
