Ryan Fox hopes to step out without any distractions as he headlines the Kiwi charge at this week's NZPGA at Remuera.
The top-ranked New Zealand in the field, Fox lost some of his impetus when he damaged his left ankle in January and spent about five weeks repairing the injury.
He returned to compete in Perth last week and while he felt some rust in his game and was protecting his ankle, Fox made the cut and collected some invaluable tournament play.
"I played so much golf last year I think at the back end of the year something was going to give way," Fox said. "I've had a few little ankle issues in the past and somehow it gave way after having a few weeks off at the end of the year.
