A good pay day for Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox but he's just missed out on qualifying for the British Open.
Fox finished sixth at the European Tour's French Open after finishing on seven-under, but narrowly missed out qualifying for this month's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale for the third time.
The Kiwi thought he done enough to make the major but a late birdie by another played denied him
"[It} looked quite good when I finished and then Michael Lorenzo-Vera in the group behind me birdied 18 to push me out of the Open spot," Fox told Radio Sport.
" I've actually had it happen to me twice. I missed out on the Aussie Open at the back end of last year as well. So I guess its trending in the right direction there but I've got two more chances in the Irish Open and the Scottish Open in the next few weeks. I'll be pushing pretty hard to get into Birkdale."
