American golfer Michael Furrh is claiming an 'unofficial Guinness World record' after hitting a golf ball 144 yards at the Rolling Hills Golf Club.
His 144 hit is not a huge distance, but he did do it using a 14 foot driver, and according to the American media, means he breaks the record previously held by Dane Karsten Maas.
Maas managed just 134.5 yards with his shot, although he did only use a 13-and-a-half foot long - so the records are not incidental.
Nevertheless, Furrh is clearly delighted with his effort, telling Fox: 'Because the club is so heavy and so long with so much width, you really have to wait for the club to finish its coil in order to start your downswing, so you have to be very patient.'
