Nike has celebrated the signing of new client Rory McIlroy by releasing an ad featuring golf's current number one battling against the former world's best Tiger Woods.
The two Nike icons stand on a driving range trying to one-up each other with trick shots. The YouTube video titled 'No CupIs Safe' has already attracted more than 1.5 million views.
"Someone wants the play," Tiger says after McIlroy sinks a hole-in-one.
"Just trying to keep up with the old guy," the Northern Irishman replies.
"Dude is that your real hair?" Woods quips in return.
The pair then hit shots into a green keeper's drink, through the window of a businessman's office, a restaurant-goer's soup bowl and into the champagne flute glasses of wedding attendants before Tiger gets the final say.
The ad is similar to the McDonald's commercial from the 1990s which featured basketball greats Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.
McIlroy signed signed a multi-year deal with the sportswear company yesterday. Nike did not disclose any financial details of the deal, but industry observers have estimated that McIlroy will be paid up to $US20 million a year to use the company's equipment and apparel.
